The House of Wet
Darcy Meades (birmingirl) is a multidisciplinary artist who works through installation and the reappropriation of domestic items. Her work explores home and family as experienced by the artist through the imitation of specific home environments and events in her life; namely parties as hosted by her Haus, the Haus of Wet.
This work, the House of Wet, mimics a Wet party within the walls of a dollhouse, renovated and modelled to be similar to the house in which the artist grew up in. Her The artist's work is often autobiographical, taking snippets from time or documenting a moment. The work evolves through documenting and remembering both one specific moment and all the moments of her life at the same time. In this way, the House of Wet is an expansion of all her previous work that has bee shrunk down in order to be spectated all at once.
