Gabriella Gans is a visual artist with an experimentative practice. Her passion lies within mark-making, however, recently has endeavoured into merging traditional and digital media to explore ideas of self, otherness, and place.

‘I Speak With My Hands’ is Gabriella Gans’ first film-based artwork that incorporates personal imagery taken from her graffitied bedroom wall. Layered with a projected video, bursts of colour scatter across the screen emulating a collage, an integral part of Gans’ practice. Soothing sounds of creation can be heard throughout the piece, highlighting the beautiful contradiction of silence in everyday life. Chaos, calm & nothingness intermingle as Gans expresses her identity through hand gestures, and pigmented imagery.
